Fan Kin Ning

Kin Ning obtained his law degree from the National University of Singapore in 1992 and was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court in Singapore in 1993. In 1997, Kin Ning was also admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya.

Over his 26 years of practice, he has accumulated a wealth of experience in various areas of legal practice; from corporate mergers & acquisitions to dispute resolutions. He was part of a lead team of lawyers in a US$1.25-billion take-over of a Singapore company with offices/subsidiaries in 40 countries. He advised an international logistics company and its Singapore subsidiary in connection with an investigation by the Competition Commission of Singapore on an international price-fixing cartel and successfully made representations to the Commission to reduce the penalty. He represented a Malaysian entity in a claim against a United States entity for US$5.4 million and a counterclaim for US$10.5 million, which claim and counterclaim straddled an arbitration in Singapore and concurrent related proceedings in the United States Courts. He frequently advises and represents parties in various commercial matters, including corporate mergers and acquisitions and real-property transactions. He also advises and represents parties in civil litigation matters in both the Singapore Courts and the Malaysian Courts, in arbitration proceedings and in alternative dispute resolutions.
